Whew!

It’s really been awhile!  I have had so much changing and growing going on, its been hard to catch up to myself.  Really!  I have lead some really powerful classes, retreat, and programs in the last 6 months.  One thing that I have learned is that when I am called to lead a new class – or stretch beyond my own beingness – it is because my guides know that I am ready to move forward and up.

That old adage of the teacher becoming the student definitely holds true with metaphysical work.  The whole idea of a teacher being so enraptured with the “importance” of teaching concepts and spirituality is what makes that statement so.  So, I started a new blog called “Reflections of a Landslide.”  It’s when we have climbed that mountain and are looking out at the wonderful work we have done that we are in danger of a landslide.

Here’s what I mean by that.  It’s good to reflect on what you have accomplished – in fact, it’s beneficial and really important to reflect.  But, how are you reflecting?  Is it with gratitude or with some self-inflated ego?  That’s where the danger of a landslide comes into play.  You see, just as Stevie Nicks’ song says, when we are up on that mountain and see our “reflections on a snow-covered hill,” then we may be brought down in a landslide.  Why?

How do you see yourself in that reflection?  Is it as a beautiful creative being or are you seeing yourself with ego?  Gratitude is the key, my friend.  If you see yourself as a beautiful, creative being with deep gratitude for the lessons and for the opportunities of sharing your knowledge with others, then you are truly at the top of the mountain and found the meaning of Love.  But, if you are seeing yourself through Ego, then you are placing all of your accomplishments ahead of the True Nature of Source and Abundance.  When you see yourself as a “Guru” who knows all and doesn’t need to learn lessons and has already learned it all, then you are in store of a major landslide.  Not preaching here – I have watched and experienced it myself.

So, reflect on your accomplishments with Gratitude and Love knowing that you, yourself, are a student.  Again, it’s also important to see your reflection in the snow – where are you now – what is your next step in your evolution!  Open yourself up to the opportunities.  And the next time you experience a big WHEW in your life, well, let it go.  That landslide comes and there is much beauty in the aftermath!
